Self-monitoring is a concept introduced by Snyder in the 1970s. it is the capability of adapting our behavior according to the society (Gangestad & Snyder, 2000) that is to meet the demands of the social situation, such as our self- presentation and expressive behavior. According to Snyder, there are two types of self-monitoring people that is the high self-monitoring and the low self-monitoring. A high self-monitoring person is the type of person that can easily adapt their behavior according to the social situation. They are good at interpreting other people 's emotions and therefore may easily meet the demands of the society or individual whom the person is interacting to. An example of high self- monitoring is when an individual is watching a movie with a group of people and after the movie ended, they review it and the majority of the people enjoyed the movie. When actually the individual dislike the movie, he decided to tell the group that he also enjoyed the movie. This is because high self -people waits for social cues then decides to follow it in order to meet the demands of other people. A low self-monitoring people however is the exact opposite of high self- monitoring people. These people did not wait for social cues, they act according to their self-belief, their own attitude thus is not the type that often meet the demands of the social situations even when the social institutions suggest that they should behave otherwise. An example for low monitoring people is at the movies, their review about the movie will be based on their own judgement and not according to what other people and the majority 's opinion. It is very important to identify these two types of people and also it is debatable whether high self-monitoring is a better person than low monitoring or
